The Shoes: Work v.s Play
A look into my shoe collection.

This week I’ll be taking you through a small portion of my shoes. Shoes are probably my favorite thing in the world. I love how they can change the look of an entire outfit and they just make me feel good. Some shoes in my wardrobe are great for work, some are good for a day out, and some can be mixed into any occasion but all of them fit within my goth style. I’ll be alternating between work shoes and play shoes for this post so read on if you’re interested!
Let’s start with my work shoes…
These shoes are my Jeffery Campbell shoes. I love them a lot but they are extremely uncomfortable so I have to will myself to wear them for an entire work day. These shoes are very versatile so I can use them for work and for play but it’s easier to match these with more professional wear. My favorite part about these shoes is the heal. They have a circular heel which I don;t see very often so I really enjoy having them as a part of my wardrobe.

I’ve had these shoes for years and they have no tags or stickers or logos so I have no idea what the brand is and where I got them but nonetheless they are amazing. Everyone needs a pair of platform shoes and these are a good balance of girly and goth. My usual ‘play’ outfits aren’t very girly but on the off chance that I want to put on a casual dress or skirt these shoes are a must. They also look great in the summer when I want to show off a little leg. Definitely a must have in my wardrobe.
Back to work!
I wear these all the time to work. Everyone needs a basic pair of black pointy heels. I haven’t been wearing these as much recently because the weather has been a little too cold, but these shoes will literally match every outfit that I have in my wardrobe. They aren’t expensive shoes at all so if you don’t have a pair of heels like these I highly recommend. I got these at Target on sale so don’t think that you have to spend big bucks on fancy shoes for work. The chunky heel on these make them super easy to walk in and very comfortable which is a must when you wear them for an 8 hour work shift.
Now lets play!
Another pair of well loved shoes. These are vans that I got quite a while ago. They are amazing because of the small platform sole which makes them very casual and easy to wear. If you are a beginner to platform shoes or not very comfortable wearing them I would recommend these. They are chunky and beautiful and they match everything. I find myself wearing these a lot more in warmer weather like the previous shoes but since they are sneakers they can be worn year round.
Next up, work!
Now, I call these work shoes but they are really just a pair of booties. The reason I categorized these as work is because I personally where these to work when the weather is colder and I have another pair of booties that are more suited to the play category which are coming up next. These are very basic but I love the black floral details all over them. It really helps elevate an outfit. Because they are very low rise booties they look amazing with tights but I wear them with jeans and fluffy black socks all the time!
On to the next!
I call these my witchy shoes. They usually appear when I wear my more witchy style outfits but as with all of my other shoes I can wear them with most of my outfits. I love the studs and buckles all over them; It really makes for an interesting focal point in my outfits. I got these shoes a while ago so I don’t remember where they are from but I know that they weren’t expensive. If anyone knows where these shoes are from let me know!
Next pair of shoes!
Yes it’s my dress shoes. I call these dress shoes but they aren’t really that fancy. I wear these to work a lot because they pair really nicely with a casual blazer and pants. These shoes have been with me since I was in school so again I don’t remember where they are from, but if you know then let me know! There’s not a lot to say about these shoes, they are basic and great for work because they look good and they are comfortable.
Now last but not least are my favorite shoes in my collection…..
That’s right, my Doc Martins. Easily my favorite pair of shoes for obvious reasons. They are beautiful and they add a pop of color to my otherwise all black outfit. I’m a sucker for a floral print over black and with all of the detail on these shoes how could you not love them. I really like wearing these shoes with a casual outfit so that they really shine so typically I wear them with a plain pair of jeans. Though these shoes don’t go with all of my outfits like the other shoes, they are very special to me and I love having them as a part of my wardrobe.
