Holiday Inspiration
The X-mas Sweater
‘Tis the season!
Everyone likes to dress up a little bit during the holidays and even though most of us don’t have any big plans I still think that we can all dress up a little.
The first look that I put together adds a bit of fun to the season. It may not be the outfit that you show the family but hey, most of us can’t visit with family anyway so why not try to cheer ourselves up with a cool outfit!
I’ve paired this amazing light up holiday sweater with a pair of fake leather leggings and my amazing docs. I talk all about these shoes in my last blog post so check it out for more details!
As for the sweater, I think I bought it off of amazon a couple of years ago and it’s simply perfect. The eyes of the skull light up when you move which is always fun. I’m a huge sucker when it comes to stripe sleeves so this sweater is one of my favorites for the holidays. This outfit is more edgy and fun than the others but it’s good to have a little fun every now and again.
This next look is more of a girly goth style which isn’t always me but I love this outfit so much that I might just wear it this x-mas!
Soooo cute right? I found this amazing kitten holiday sweater at a thrift store a couple of years ago and I’ve been in love with it ever since. The collar is actually attached to the sweater which I think is a very cute detail. If you don’t have a sweater with a collar attached I recommend pairing a button up with any over-sized sweater. It really adds more dimension to the outfit and it can help to break up all of the black if you so choose.
This outfit is very simple because I wanted the sweater to really shine through. I paired the top with a pair of black tights and my platform buckle shoes which I also talk about in my previous post.
I also added a loose fitting hat. I really don;t know what these hats are called but they are in between a beanie and a beret. I think some people call them slouchy berets but who knows.
This last holiday outfit is more professional and grown up in my opinion. This is an outfit that I put together with the idea of entertaining guests or going to a work function. Obviously that’s not really happening this year but I can still put this outfit on and dream.
This is a perfect professional holiday outfit. I found this sweater at a thrift store, of course, and the pants are actually talked about in a previous blog post!
Pairing a bulky sweater with a very high wasted tapered pant really makes you look like you are wearing an outfit instead of the outfit wearing you. If you enjoy the over-sized look, I recommend trying a pair of tapered pants like these and a large sweater but make sure you put a belt in the middle. The belt will help you keep a body shape instead of drowning in your clothes (this also works with just a high wasted pant). I really like this outfit pairing and though you can’t see my shoes in this picture, I'm wearing some high heeled booties- black of course.
I hope you enjoyed this holiday inspired post!
I enjoyed putting these outfits together and hopefully at least one of these looks inspired you!
Let me know which outfit suits your style more and what looks you thought of while looking at these.
Until next time!
